The pick can cause a lot of people some trouble in the beginning. It takes a little
time to get used to it, but once you do, it becomes an extension of your hand. The
pick is held between your index finger and thumb.
Place the pick on the index finger like the example below
Now place your thumb on top of the pick.
Many examples of holding a pick will tell you to place the pick at more of an angle
so it creates a T shape with your thumb laying across the top of the T. I personal
find this a little uncomfortable and awkward so I perfer to use the method up top.
I feel that I have more control over the pick and that it really is an extension
of my hand.
